Op-Ed

My name is Maria, and I joined the Metaverse when I was only 10 years old.  My parents wanted to look for a better life or something, whatever that means. I don't remember much about life outside of the Metaverse but I do remember small things about Earth: the ocean breeze, my old room and school. School. Yes, school. Which brings me to my next point. One distinct thing I remember at school was how much I enjoyed it. I enjoyed all subjects from science to art and math but the subject I love the most was History. I found it interesting to learn about the world around me and I hoped to visit these places one day but I never did. At that point over seventy five percent of the world's population had become part of the Metaverse. My family and I were ostracized; or at least my dad says so. My dad was tired of being an outcast. Plus we didn't have a lot of money at the time. Moving to the Metaverse made my family's life better. I've learned to tolerate the Metaverse over the years but I still hate it. But I refuse to tolerate it anymore. Why do you ask? Because Mark Zuckerberg and his team of scientists announce that the earth it’s just one subcontinent instead of seven continents, that is not right. I remember all the history lessons from elementary history class and all the geography lessons I learned in general. I learned so much about the seven continents and for the scientist and there’s only one. That’s why I decided to do my research.

I’m now 25 years old. I'm different and more mature. I’m not the same person anymore. I did my research and gathered up people. I had to prove to people the Metaverse is a scam. I just don’t understand what this theory of one subcontinent could even come from. Back then I was only 20. I started doing my own research. It’s really hard to find old textbooks and things because I only have MegaVerse textbooks and they’re all made by Zuckerberg. And I feel like all the facts in the mouth know it doesn’t feel real. I feel like I should be part of the earth. So, I did some deep research. I searched through the shelves in my dad‘s old books and found the old map for seven continents: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa , Antarctica and Australia.

Soon after gathering enough evidence. I gathered a team of people. We spread the words as far as we could. I wanted to show people that Mark Zuckerberg is tricking people. He is making them feel like they are less than and he feels like he is superior to all the people in the Metaverse. My plan was simple: to transfer the word across the entire Metaverse. But my plan did not last long due to the fact that Mark Zuckerburg caught on and we were kicked out of the Metaverse as outcasts again.
