My name is Maria, and I joined the Metaverse when I was only 10 years old. My parents wanted to look for a better life or something, whatever that means. I don't remember much about life outside of the Metaverse but I do remember small things about Earth: the ocean breeze, my old room and school. School. Yes, school. Which brings me to my next point. One distinct thing I remember at school was how much I enjoyed it. I enjoyed all subjects from science to art and math but the subject I love the most was History. I found it interesting to learn about the world around me and I hoped to visit these places one day but I never did. At that point over seventy five percent of the world's population had become part of the Metaverse. My family and I were ostracized; or at least my dad says so. My dad was tired of being an outcast.
